I will present an overview of Embedded Systems products and research at 
Microsoft. For products, I will focus on the Windows Embedded portfolio, 
consisting of the hard real-time Windows CE and Windows XPEmbedded. 
I will highlight how these complementary OSs have been used in academic 
settings for both teaching and research. For research, I will present some 
examples of our diverse embedded systems work at Microsoft Research, 
including wearable computing, sensor networks and robotics.
