The talk sheds light on to various group communication system specifications that 
serve as a platform for the classification, analysis and comparison of various 
group communication systems. Various applications of the group communication 
systems, where the specificaitons are usefully implemented are also discussed. 
The framework specification discussed is aimed at application developers of GCS 
to choose a system appropriate for them.
