Tasks Accomplished
  • Thorough study of the IA 64 HP patch and previously implemented patch on
    older kernels to understand the implementation.
  • Implementing the kernel patch on the current version kernel.
  • Testing the kernel patch to verify the function.
  • Writing the BLCR side of code to do incremental checkpointing by using the
    kernel patch
  • Testing the BLCR and kernel combination on small applications to verify
    the consistency of the checkpointing with dirty bit.
  • Planning for various test scenarios for NAS parallel benchmark with various
    available resources. Many challenges were faced due to the compatibility of
    various compilers and softwares on different clusters.
  • Installing kernel on the os cluster to run NAS benchmarks
